Arts and Crafts Around Tenby

From JMW Turner, George Eliot and Daniel Defoe, to Dylan Thomas, Beatrix Potter, Roald Dahl and Lucien Freud, some of the most famous artists and writers of their era have visited Tenby to enjoy its many delights.

Make sure you pay a visit to Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, whose permanent art collection features one of the finest collections of Augustus and Gwen John paintings outside of the National Museum Wales. Other artists represented in the museum include David Jones, John Piper, John Uzzell Edwards, John Knapp Fisher, Kyffin Williams and many others – a veritable who’s who in 20th century art.

There are several galleries in town representing the work of David Morgan, Gary Llewellyn and Naomi Tydeman. You’ll find plenty of pieces by local painter Guy Manning on the walls of Tenby’s many cafés and restaurants.

Just a couple of miles outside of Tenby at Cold Inn, is the fantastic Love Spoon Workshop where you can buy a genuine Welsh heirloom made by hand at Pembrokeshire’s only love spoon carvers.
