Tenby South Beach is a great spot for a day by the water.
It’s easy to get to, as there’s a ramp that leads from the parking lot right down to the sand. That makes it perfect for families with small children or people in wheelchairs. And dogs are welcome, too! So whether you’re looking to relax in the sun, splash in the waves, or take a leisurely stroll along the shore, Tenby South Beach is the place to be.

Not only will you be spoiled for choice with Saltys restaurant and bar, cafe, toilets and the town all within a 5-minute walk, but the scenery is guaranteed to take your breath away. With stunning views of Caldey Island, sand dunes and Giltar Point on one side, and dramatic rocks and cliffs on the other, you’ll find plenty to explore at Tenby South Beach.
In the height of the season, when Tenby is bustling and the beaches are full of people enjoying the warm weather, you can always find a bit of space by walking further along South beach. At low tide, the beach joins up with Castle Beach to open up and bring together a beautiful new stretch of beach linking you to the other side of town and a whole new set of facilities. This is a great spot to come and relax, escape the busyness of the town, and enjoy the sound and sight of the waves.
Tenby South Beach is a great place to take a dip and explore. The gentle slope down into the sea makes it safe for swimming and there are lifeguards on duty from Easter until early September. Tenby South Beach is a great option for your furry friend, but keep in mind that restrictions do apply to some beaches. Castle Beach is off-limits between 1st May and 30th September to dogs when the tide is out when the two beaches are connected. However, South Beach has been awarded a Blue Flag for its cleanliness and safety, so you and your pup can enjoy a worry-free day in the sun!
