We love nothing more than a good scare, so if you’re a fan of all things weird, wonderful, and ghostly a ghost walk is a fun activity to take part in together. Marion Davies hosts one and tells tales of ghosts, witches, omens, mysteries, and all things murderous! Don’t worry though, it’s all very light-hearted storytelling and an interesting way to walk around the town. The ghost walk starts outside the Lifeboat Tavern Tudor Square Tenby. It was even included in the Sunday Times as one of the top 5 ghost walks in Britain. Give this one a go for a fun date night.
For a romantic getaway, St Catherine’s Island is perfection. It is only accessible at low tide and homes St Catherine’s Fort. It’s a great place to visit whether you are history fans or just fancy an escape together. St Catherine’s Fort is a 19th-century naval fort that played a role in the First World War. A photo from the island with colourful Tenby in the background is a photo opportunity you don’t want to miss!
Tenby is full of coastal walks, wildlife, and incredible views. A lovely way to spend quality time together is by walking. A route we really love is the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which takes you North to Saundersfoot, a 4.5 mile stretch with incredible views from the headland at Monkstone Point of Saundersfoot Bay. There are plenty of places to stop and enjoy a picnic if the weather is good. It’s a great way to explore the area.
One thing you just must make the most of at a seaside resort is the beaches. Tenby’s four wonderful beaches are perfect for spending the day together relaxing, exploring, watching the sunset, or enjoying a romantic picnic together. It’s nice to take some time out together and just enjoy the fresh seaside air. You can choose from Harbour beach which is quite small but a fantastic location to take photos. There’s no shortage of restaurants, cafes, and pubs near here to enjoy together too. North Beach, which is a blue flag beach, is an ideal beach for activities such as paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing, and water-skiing. Castle beach is another blue flag beach which has easy access and stunning views. Finally, the busiest beach, South Beach is a great place to spend the day if you enjoy the hustle and bustle.
Taking a trip to Caldey Island is a lovely way to spend quality time together. If you’re interested in history this is one of Britain’s holy islands, the Cistercian monks of Caldey continue a tradition that began there in Celtic times. You can catch a 20-minute boat from Tenby Harbour to Caldey Island and enjoy this remote haven as well as each other’s company. The island is stunning and a place of total tranquillity. The monks and islanders are pleased to welcome day-visitors to bask in the delights of their island home throughout the summer season.
One of our favourite places for a date has to be the zoo! If you are an animal fan Manor Wildlife Park is a great place to spend the day together. It’s lovely to meet relaxed animals enjoying human contact. Worth a visit if you fancy an easy date day out at the zoo.
