Penally Abbey Hotel is a true labour of love for the Boissevain family. Husband and wife team Lucas and Melanie Boissevain work closely with two of their three children, Saskia and Jacques, to create this 12 bedroom boutique hotel and restaurant.

Located just outside Tenby and a 10-minute walk from the magical Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, Penally is a place where time slows down and sea views, squishy armchairs, and home-cooked food soothe the soul.

The Penally Abbey Hotel has a spectacular view out to sea, overlooking the oldest golf course in Wales - Tenby Golf Course, established in 1888.

Falling for the charming 18th Century property in 2014, the Boissevain family saw a definite niche for a small, intimate luxury hotel and top quality restaurant to serve Tenby and the beautiful surrounding area.

An interior designer by profession, it was Melanie's task to give the hotel's unique interior spaces and guest rooms an inspired new lease of life. Introducing cool, elegant lighting and colour schemes, helped by a wealth of character features and carefully selected furnishings.

The hotel is based around three fundamentals; warm, welcoming and friendly service, good food and wine and comfy bedrooms. The Boissevain's wanted Penally Abbey to feel like staying with family friends or in a large B&B.

The same could be said about the delightful historic grounds and hotel restaurant. Bringing a keen interest in local history and a love of great food, Lucas has dedicated himself to the task of putting Penally Abbey and its grounds firmly on the map as a different breed of hotel complementing the hotel's unique coastal surroundings and history.
