Description
Repair Café at Augustus Place Community Hall
Ever felt heartbroken at the thought of throwing away that beloved toaster, treasured teddy bear, or cherished chair with a wonky leg? Well, hold onto your hats (and your broken toasters), because every second Saturday of the month, between 2pm and 4pm, Augustus Place Community Hall becomes the beating heart of Tenby's very own Repair Café!
What Exactly is a Repair Café?
I'm glad you asked! Think of it as a charming community hub filled with skilled volunteers—ready and eager to mend your broken items, from electrical gadgets to garments, small furniture, and everything in between. Our cheerful team of fixers will roll up their sleeves, armed with an array of tools, glue guns, sewing needles, and a can-do attitude that would put even the most enthusiastic DIY-er to shame. They'll assess, tinker, stitch, and restore your treasured items, giving them a second chance at life.
And if your item proves particularly stubborn? Well, rest assured that our volunteers will at least put their best foot forward, offering helpful advice on the next steps or sharing sympathetic commiserations over a comforting cuppa.
Come for the Repairs, Stay for the Biscuits!
Did I mention there's tea, coffee, and biscuits? Oh yes, my friends—refreshments are always on hand to accompany the fixing frenzy. After all, a good repair session isn't complete without a brew and a biscuit in hand, chatting with friendly faces in your local community.
Donations Welcome!
While all our repairs and refreshments are provided by our brilliant volunteers free of charge, donations are warmly encouraged. Every penny you kindly contribute goes straight back into the running of the café, keeping supplies stocked, teapots full, and ensuring the good work can continue month after month.
Pop Along and Join the Fun
So, whether your bike needs some tender love and care, your favourite jumper needs a little stitch-up, or that once-reliable kettle has suddenly decided to retire without notice, bring them along. Even if you're not quite sure if something's fixable, bring it anyway—our lovely volunteers relish a challenge almost as much as they enjoy a nice cup of tea.
Oh, and if you're handy yourself, why not join our merry band of fixers? We're always on the lookout for more talented volunteers. After all, many hands make light work!
We'll see you at Augustus Place Community Hall—the kettle's on!
