Underground Surf and Skate opened up in Tenby in 1990, selling unique hand-painted and stencilled T-shirts, and hand-made surfboards made by Jason, the founder and owner.

Over the years, the shop began to stock other surf and skate brands too, making it the longest-running surf shop in town, and the only one to stock surf and skate hardware, surfboards, wetsuits, bodyboards, skateboards and accessories.

The current Underground Apparel range keeps it simple with unisex sweats, tees, hats and bags mainly printed on the West coast with the classic Underground logos.

In our basement, you'll find new and second-hand surfboards and wetsuits, with a part-exchange system if your board/ suit is in decent condition. RIPCURL, O'NEILL, XCEL, C-SKINS and ALDER wetsuits are available in kids, ladies and men's sizes (starting at age 2) and the experienced staff will help you find the best fit. The store also stocks bodyboards, SUPs, skimboards, skateboards and hardware accessories.

Broadhaven
Broad haven has excellent car parking a hire service for wet suits, surfboards and kayaks.

Freshwater West
An extremely wild beach is famed for its incredible surf, reaching up to 6ft and covering the whole bay—home to the Welsh National Surfing Championships.

Manorbier
Manorbier has good surfing conditions to the south end of the beach, which is suitable for beginners.

Marloes
Marloes is an unspoilt, secluded beach; no facilities so not ideal for beginners but perfect for experienced surfers.

Newgale
Newgale is a long expansive beach with pebble bank; car parks, toilets, pubs, and beach shops.

Tenby South
Ideal during a big winter swell, Tenby South Beach's surfing conditions occur just a couple of times a year. It is recommended for experienced surfers only.

West Dale
The main car park is half a mile away at Dale village; good waves with solid swells; recommended for experienced surfers only.

Whitesands Bay
Whitesands has good car parking a surf shop and lifeguards in summer, so ideal for beginners.
