The Dinosaur Park in Tenby, South Wales is an attraction perfect for families and especially lovers of all things Jurassic! There are indoor and outdoor activities to take part in and more than 30 dinosaurs roaming in the woods. There are rides, activities, footgolf, mini-golf, and an adventure playground. Whether you’re young or old they have so many rides and activities for you to take park in here. Whizz, race, spin and bounce to your heart’s content. You can even walk on water!
My son is 4 years old and he chose Tenby Dinosaur Park as his special day out on our most recent holiday to Tenby. Actually, we were so glad he did because it was lots of fun and great value for money. Adult tickets were £14.95 each and the child ticket (3-15) was £13.75. All manned rides and activities are free with your entry price and there are so many to choose from. There’s a great selection for different aged children to take part in. We were super lucky as the sun shined for most of the day too!
When we first arrived there was quite a large queue, this park is very popular in peak season so pre-booking is essential. The queue moved quickly though and we started our day with some of the games and activities such as giant jigsaw puzzles and hoopla. The park is laid out really well so if your little one gets overwhelmed during busy times there are plenty of quieter parts you can enjoy as well.
We loved how informative and accessible this park is for children with their interactive displays and boards, not only kids having fun but they are learning too. There are lots of information boards dotted around the park, have fun trying to pronounce some of the names of the dinosaurs!
After this, we headed over to the slides while it was quiet as we expected them to get busy later in the day and we were right! They were so much fun and it’s a great tip to try these early on as you can get a few goes on them. I’m sure your kids will be shouting to go again and again at you too!
The times of these tours vary and they take around 10 minutes. The tour is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. You can also wander around the dinosaurs and get up close to them on a self-led tour. We chose to walk around ourselves so we could really take our time, take some photos and spend time enjoying the vast ancient woodland.
I really loved that you can get fully involved with your little ones at this park. It adds to the entire experience of the day and you feel like you’re really getting some quality time together.
There are plenty of other things to do including Hurricane cars, Alun’s Dinosaur circuit, Disco boats, Crazy bugs, Skiddy cars and much more. There is also a fun outdoor net that even adults can enjoy.
Our only downside to this park was that there was only one place to buy food, drinks, snacks and even just one bottle of water which means the queue can get really long. So if you don’t fancy waiting just take a picnic! There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy it. When we did get our food it was tasty, hot and reasonably priced.
It was great even at peak time, it wasn’t too busy at all, there are golf club sizes for adults and children so everyone can get involved. If you don’t fancy mini golf have a go at footgolf or bounce on one of their super bouncer trampolines. There is an outdoor playground with games, there’s even a curling lane and a Dinosaur-themed toddler’s playground.
Indoors there is a purpose-built play den plus daily fossil hunts in their amphitheatre. You can also try six different games in Dino’s funhouse. Older kids will love the Virtual Reality shack.
Tenby. It’s great value for money, lots of fun, set in beautiful woodland, and will well and truly tire your kids…and you out! We loved it and we hope this review will inspire you to take a visit. This review was written by Shayle Hollie.
