Coming on Friday to Tenby from Birmingham by car and looking forward to calling in to TIO Tenby. When we visited just pre CV 19 very helpful staff and loads of physical inforamtion we could pick up. One of the reasons we chose Tenby was because it had a TIO. We are 70 and do not have a computer we use other than at home sometimes and no APS on phone. Oh well look for some where else 2024 which has a TIO in town. .

No Tourist Information Centre in Tenby? What a loss!! We are visitors from Australia, and the first thing we always do when we travel to new places is visit the local Tourist Information Centre. We were very surprised to discover that Tenby, with all its attractions, no longer has one. Online information does not cut it when you have questions, or want to browse things to do, or talk to a local expert, or find a map. And the last thing we as tourists want to do is spend more time online! I don’t know why the decision was made to close the centre, but I really hope it returns in the future.

Hi Lis, thanks so much for your message — we completely understand where you’re coming from.

While Tenby sadly no longer has a Tourist Information Centre, if you ever need any help or have questions, feel free to DM us on any of our social channels — we’re always happy to help! Or better yet, ask one of our lovely local business owners — you’ll find they’re some of the friendliest around and always up for a chat and a recommendation.

Enjoy your time in Tenby — we hope it’s full of unforgettable memories (and minimal screen time)! 😊

Beware Tenby is now operating a very positive discrimination programe against the disabled. Have visited Pembroke for many years because of its likeness to my home County of Cornwall. Visited last Tuesday whilst on holiday and the old town is closed to traffic. Asked a warden where the disbaled might park as the maximum I can walk is around 100 yards and was told to carry on through and disabled parking os available. Parked in a disbaled bay and returned to find a ticket as ALL bays in the old town are suspended. The crazy thing is if I stopped just before the bay on the double yellow lines, that would be legal but not encouraged by Tenby, as they clearly do not want disabled visitors. Their loss as I shall not return and my monies will be spent elsewhere and not in the hotels and restuarants of Tenby. An expensive £35 for Teby businesses

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience – we’re really sorry to hear how difficult your visit turned out to be. Accessibility is so important, and it’s concerning to know that the suspension of disabled bays, combined with unclear guidance, left you feeling unwelcome.

The pedestrianisation scheme is designed to reduce traffic in Tenby’s old town, but it should never result in disabled visitors being disadvantaged. Your feedback highlights how important it is for clearer communication and better support to be put in place.

We know how much local businesses value every visitor, and it’s a real shame that this experience has left you with such a negative impression. We’ll be sure to pass on your comments so they can be heard by the right people.

Thank you again for raising this – it’s only through honest feedback like yours that improvements can be made.
